San Diego Loyal News Release
San Diego, CA - San Diego Loyal SC (SD Loyal) announced today the launch of its Leal Sin Muros initiative [LINK] to celebrate the LatinX community and unite the Cali-Baja communities through soccer. "Leal Sin Muros", or "Loyal Without Walls", is one of many platforms the club plans to launch as part of their mission to help make a diverse San Diego an even better place to live, work and play for all.
"One of our core values at SD Loyal is commitment and part of that commitment is our commitment to the community," said Landon Donovan, EVP of Soccer Operations and Manager. "Our community is heavily influenced by the LatinX culture, and more than that, our sport is heavily influenced by the LatinX culture. We are very proud to launch Leal Sin Muros to help make this community stronger and better for all San Diegans."
Leal Sin Muros aims to create connections among SD Loyal players, front office, fans and partners to bring the Cali-Baja communities together and amplify and highlight the people, cultures, cuisine, destinations and economy through the beautiful game. The club plans to put its mission into action through:
Partnership with local Spanish television to broadcast 29 of SD Loyal's matches on Entravision's TV Azteca Canal 33, including a pre and post-match show with Ricardo "Pony" Jimenez, Brandon Ambiz and Elias Awad
Community partnership with the Chicano Federation-San Diego to bring soccer camps and clinics to those in need as well as fundraising and volunteering efforts
Merchandise line featuring designs by local LatinX artists with proceeds going directly to Leal Sin Muros partners
SD Loyal is built on its core values - Competition, Commitment, Connection and Camaraderie - and the launch of each of its initiatives will bring the soul of the club to life. Today marks just the start of Leal Sin Muros and SD Loyal plans to grow the initiative year-round to invest in inclusiveness and create positive outcomes and opportunities for all.
Fans can support the cause and build their wardrobes for the upcoming season as well as celebrate the LatinX community and uniting the Cali-Baja with their very own Leal Sin Muros scarf. For updates on the platform, partnerships and upcoming initiatives, please visit SDLoyal.com/Leal.
