San Antonio Scorpions News Release
The San Antonio Scorpions released forward Nikola Vasilic on Tuesday, Head Coach Tim Hankinson announced. Vasilic signed with the Scorpions in February of this year.
Vasilic played 236 minutes for the Scorpions this season, scoring one goal and receiving one yellow card. The Serbian international took six shots total this season with three of them being on target.
Vasilic has spent the majority of his career in Serbia, but also had a stint with Albanian club Elbasani. From 2011-12, Vasilic made 20 appearances with Serbian side FK Sindelic Nis and scored five goals over that stretch. He moved to FK Novi Sad in 2012 and made three appearances before signing for the Scorpions for the 2013 season.
"Nikola was a professional during his time with the Scorpions," said Hankinson. "We wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
The Scorpions roster now stands at 22 following Vasilic's departure.
