SAN ANTONIO, TX - The San Antonio Scorpions of the NASL have re-signed goalkeeper, Jeremy Vuolo, for the 2014 season, Scorpions President Howard Cornfield and Head Coach Alen Marcina announced on Wednesday.

Vuolo returns for the 2014 campaign after completing a missionary trip for relief aid in the Phillippines after a typhoon struck the island country in the later part of 2013.

The Scorpions first acquired the 6'3 Philadelphia native in 2013. During the season Vuolo established himself as a fan favorite after coming off the bench to deny an attempt from Minnesota United FC striker Pablo Campos and preserve a Scorpions shutout on the June 1st match at Toyota Field.

"With an aim toward building from the back as a template for attractive soccer, Jeremy's technical skill continues to be an asset to the club," said Scorpions coach Alen Marcina."

"I'm excited to be back," said Vuolo. "I'm very grateful to be back with the team and fighting for a championship."

Vuolo completed a stellar collegiate career at Syracuse University where he was named his team's MVP and was team captain, as well as finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award (nation's most outstanding student-athlete). He was also ranked in BIG EAST his senior year.

Vuolo's signing bring the Scorpions roster to eight committed players thus far for the 2014 season. The keeper joins Walter Restrepo, Jonathan Fana, Danny Barrera, Shaun Saiko, Tomasz Zahorski, Stephen DeRoux and Greg Janicki.

Vuolo will begin training camp on February 10th.
