
Scoggins to return for third season with Thunder

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder has re-signed pitcher Cassidy Scoggins, team General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Scoggins, who will be in her third season with the Thunder in 2009, finished the 2008 season with a 3-7 record and three saves. In her two-year career in Rockford, the Owasso, Okla. native is 7-7 with a career ERA of 2.98.
In 2008, Scoggins was an assistant coach at Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford. She has returned to Carbondale to pursue a Master's Degree.
The signing of Scoggins leaves the current Thunder roster at eight players. She joins infielders Lindsay Gardner, Jamie Davison and Chelsea Spencer; outfield Shanna Diller and pitchers Cat Osterman, Megan Brown and Allison Kime.
