The ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies will hold it's training camp, regular season practice,sell tickets and Gwizzlies sports gear and items at the Suwanee Sports Academy,but not it's 18 home ballgames, due to scheduling.
Gwizzlies officials stated that their goal is to play it's first season in an average size venue as it build up sponsorships and a fan base. 2005-2006 season the Gwinnett Gwizzlies will make plans to play in the 12,500 seat Area of Gwinnett.
Their are 28 teams now in the ABA and the Gwizzlies will be in the Southeast division. Once the playoffs start in March 2005 the Gwizzlies will contact the ABA league office to try to have the playoffs and hopefully ABA championship game and ABA 2005 All-star game at the Arena of Gwinnett. ABA league officials suggested that Gwizzlies owner Embry Malone be an integral part of the upcoming 2005 ABA Draft board,which also could be held in Gwinnett.
