
Savannah Bananas Mascot Named

SAVANNAH, GA. - The Savannah Bananas are excited to announce the name of their mascot is Split. In the last week, over 1,200 suggestions came in through the Savannah Bananas website for the new name of the Mascot. Jennifer Terry from Norman Park, GA, was the first fan to submit Split on the morning the contest was announced and will win five game memberships for the 2016 season.
"Split was by far the most popular name suggested in our contest and we feel it is the perfect fit for our Bananas Mascot," said President Jared Orton.
The new mascot was introduced at Heard Elementary School this afternoon in an auditorium full of students and staff.
Standing 7 feet tall, Split is the World's Largest Banana and the most physically fit. Split has a six pack of abs and is built with giant biceps and muscles! According to Orton, Split is the "King of Potassium."
"We are very excited to welcome Split to Savannah! He perfectly exemplifies the fun and unique atmosphere that will be at Grayson this summer," said President Jared Orton. "We are confident that Split will become near and dear to our fans over the course of our debut season."

Fans First Entertainment also owns and operates the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League. The Grizzlies have led the league in attendance the past three seasons, been named Organization of the Year and recognized regionally and nationally for unique from promotions and their fan experience.
