Savannah Bananas in Desperate Need of Host Families

With players arriving on Thursday, the Savannah Bananas are currently in need of families to host the players coming in for the season.
We only ask for host families to provide a bedroom, access to a bathroom and access to laundry. The players take care of their own food and the team provides meals after the games. Most players will have their own car to travel to and from the stadium. If they do not have a car, we coordinate living situations so that they can carpool with another player. The players will be arriving the last week of May, until the second week of August. The schedule is very busy! With 60 games this season and 24 of them being home games, these athletes will just need a safe place to stay. As a host family, you will receive two General Admission Membership tickets, for every player you host, to the games to cheer on your Savannah Bananas player!
Host families are such an important part to our Savannah Bananas baseball team and for these athletes. As host families, they will be helping these young men grow and advance in the sport that they love. Being a host family also creates a special bond with these players and in most cases, a lifetime bond. They become a "summer son" and become wonderful role models for children.
Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, played baseball for NC State. He stayed with a host family during his season with the Gastonia Grizzlies, another Coastal Plain League team. His host family made such an impact on his life and his baseball career, that his host family was then invited to his wedding in 2012.
