LAKEWOOD, NJ - Victor Santos and Francisco Morales combined on a three hit shutout as the BlueClaws blanked Delmarva 3-0 at FirstEnergy Park on Monday night.

Lakewood (4-8/33-49) won their second of 12 games against Delmarva (9-3/57-24) this season. In the win, the BlueClaws threw their fifth shutout of 2019.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth when Cole Stobbe doubled home Hunter Stovall, who had doubled himself.

That would be the lone run the BlueClaws pushed across off Grayson Rodriguez. The Delmarva right-hander gave up one run on five hits over his five innings of work.

Starter Victor Santos (4-6) came out after five innings, allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out three.

Lakewood added to their lead in the seventh. Pitcher Tyler Joyner's throwing error allowed Stobbe to score. Later in the inning, Jake Holmes singled home Malvin Matos to give the BlueClaws a 3-0 lead.

Morales, meanwhile, threw four scoreless innings allowing one hit with five strikeouts and earned his first save of the year.

Cole Stobbe and Luis Garcia each had two hits for Lakewood.

The teams continue their series on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm. RHP James McArthur starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Ofelky Peralta.
