
Santana's Four Hits Lead Comeback

LANCASTER, CA - For the second night in a row, Domingo Santana came up with a game-tying extra base hit. On Friday night it was a two run double in the ninth. On Saturday night he hit a two-run homer to tie the game in a seven run fifth inning that propelled the JetHawks to a 9-5 comeback win over the Stockton Ports at The Hangar.
Down 5-0 going into the fifth, Lancaster staged its largest comeback of the season. With two outs, Grant Hogue singled home Ben Heath, George Springer followed with a singe, Erik Castro singled home Hogue and Springer scored on a wild pitch. With Castro at second, Santana hit a line drive home run to right field to tie the game.
After walks to Chris Epps and Jonathan Meyer, Enrique Hernandez doubled to left field to score both runners and put the JetHawks up 7-5. Ports starter Sean Murphy (4-3) was removed after allowing seven runs on eight hits with four walks and no strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings.
Max Perlman made his Cal League debut in relief of Murphy and allowed two runs - one earned - over 3 1/3 innings. Lancaster put up two against him in the sixth to go up 9-5. Ben Orloff started the inning with a single, moved to second on a Hogue sacrifice bunt and scored on a Springer base hit.
Springer moved to third base on an errant pick-off throw and scored on a Castro sacrifice fly.
Brad Dydalewicz (1-0), who allowed two runs in three innings of relief, picked up his first victory of the season. The left-hander had entered the game after starter Tyson Perez was removed in the top of the fourth inning with a hand injury.
Perez was charged with three runs. He allowed one in the first inning when Chad Oberacker scored on a ground out after reaching with a leadoff double. The JetHawks have allowed at least one run in the first inning in four straight games.
Dusty Robinson led off the third inning with a solo home run off Perez, the 15th allowed by the right-hander this season.
Patrick Urckfitz tossed three scoreless innings to finish the game and pick up his sixth save. The left-hander allowed just one hit and struck out four batters.
For the first time this season, Lancaster did not strikeout in the game.
The JetHawks (7-10, 44-43) take on the Ports (7-10, 35-52) in the second game of the series on Sunday evening at 5:00 pm at The Hangar. Jorge De Leon will go up against Jake Brown. Sunday is Dog Day at The Hangar. Fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the ballpark. It's also Kids Eat Free & Big League Dreams Sunday.
