Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to G League Ignite

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (2-3) fall to the G League Ignite (1-3), 115-125, on Saturday night in Henderson, Nevada.

Santa Cruz started off strong gaining as much as an 18-point lead in the first quarter and led 40-24 moving into the second. The Sea Dubs held a season-high 25-point lead during the second quarter. At the end of the first half, Santa Cruz led Ignite, 76-58, with six players scoring in double-figures. Forward Lester Quinones led with 15 points and center Jayce Johnson contributed 12 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Sea Dubs put up a season-high 36 points in the paint during the first half.

Ignite fought back in the second half starting the third quarter on a 12-0 run. The Warriors led by as many as 18 points early in the third, but Ignite got within six points, 76-70, with 8:57 left. Ignite took the lead 113-112 with a dunk from guard Scoot Henderson with 4:54 minutes left on the clock. Ignite posted 37 points in the fourth quarter and secured the win over Santa Cruz, 125-115.

The Warriors were led by Quinones putting up a season-high 25 points. Guard Ryan Rollins finished the night with 24 points. Center Jayce Johnson came off the bench to tally 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Ignite was led by forward Mojave King with 28 points. Guard Aubrey Dawkins put up 20 points and guard Scoot Henderson posted 16 assists.
