Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release
OLD ORCHARD BEACH - The Raging Tide have announced the return of another member of the 2013 team, and he's bringing along one of his college teammates. Evan Brisentine and Max Kuhns of Santa Clara University will be playing in Old Orchard Beach this summer.
Brisentine is a 6'3" pitcher from San Ramon, CA. Currently in his junior year at Santa Clara, he attended California High School. He was named First Team All-League and Third Team All-East Bay during his senior season. He closed out his high school career going 6-1, with a 0.99 ERA and 88 strikeouts. For Santa Clara, Brisentine has always been very effective when he's taken the mound. The pitcher has been even more effective playing for the Raging Tide. Last season, Brisentine made 11 appearances (4 starts) during the regular season, amassing a 2-2 record, with a 3.14 ERA and 14 strikeouts. During the playoffs, it was Brisentine's stellar pitching performance that brought the Raging Tide their first ever playoff victory. His final pitching line speaks for itself: 8 IP, 0 R, 7 H, 7 K, plus the win.
Joining Brisentine from the Broncos is teammate, Max Kuhns. Kuhns is a 6'3" infielder and right-handed pitcher. He hails from Parker, CO and attended Chaparral High School. Their baseball team was ranked second in the state during his senior season where he batted .639 with three homeruns while he had a 2-1 record with a 1.65 ERA on the mound. He was named Academic All-State, received three Academic Letters, named First Team All-League, First Team All-State, First Team All-Colorado and All-Academic First Team honors. Kuhns has had highs and lows throughout his freshman season for Santa Clara, but the Raging Tide are looking forward to adding another player to their roster who is getting lots of playing time and can add more Division I depth to the roster.
The Raging Tide's home opener is on June 4th at 7pm at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach against the Nashua Silver Knights.
