
San Jose's Curry Voted Week 8 AFL MVP

CHICAGO - San Jose SaberCats wide receiver Dominique Curry has been voted AFL MVP for Week 8 of the 2014 NET10 Wireless Arena Football League season.
Curry (6-3, 230, California-PA) accounted for three total touchdowns in San Jose's 70-35 win over the Orlando Predators in Week 8. The rookie made an impact in all facets of the game. He hauled in four passes for 27 yards as a receiver and collected 5.5 tackles and a pass breakup on defense. He also displayed his hustle on special teams, forcing and recovering a fumble on a kickoff just before halftime and returning it for a touchdown.
Fans had 24 hours to vote for the AFL MVP award on ArenaFootball.com. Other candidates included Arizona Rattlers wide receiver Kerry Reed and Pittsburgh Power wide receiver Rodney Wright.
The SaberCats return to action next Saturday, May 17th as the Portland Thunder make their first ever first to San Jose.
