
San Jose Giants Kyle Crick Named California League Pitcher of the Week

SAN JOSE, CA- San Jose Giants right-handed pitcher Kyle Crick has been named California League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on September 2. In Crick's start against Visalia on Thursday, he matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts, allowed just two hits and shutout the Rawhide in seven innings on the mound in the Giants' 11-1 victory.
A supplemental first round selection by the San Francisco Giants in the 2011 draft, the right-hander owns a 3-1 record and 1.57 ERA in 14 starts for San Jose this season. Since returning from injury after the All-Star break, Crick has allowed just 11 earned runs in his 11 starts while holding opponents to a .188 batting average and striking out 83.
Crick is the seventh San Jose Giant to receive Player of the Week honors in 2013, and fifth pitcher to earn the award:

The First Half North Division Champion San Jose Giants begin their run at their 12th California League title on Saturday, September 7 as they host Game 1 of the North Division Series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM with Postgame Fireworks following the final out. The team will then host Game 2 of the series on Sunday, with a scheduled 6:00 PM first pitch.
