San Jose, Dallas advance to AFL conference championship games

NEW YORK - The San Jose SaberCats (10-6, 1-0) and Dallas Desperados (13-3, 1-0) advanced to the AFL's American and National Conference Championship Games, respectively with Divisional Round wins on Saturday.

San Jose defeated the Arizona Rattlers 62-48 at HP Pavilion in San Jose to advance to the Conference Championship Game for the sixth time in the last seven years (2000-2004, 2006).

Dallas defeated the Georgia Force, the defending National Conference Champions, 62-27 at American Airlines Center in Dallas to advance to the franchise's first-ever Conference Championship Game.

The Desperados, the National Conference's top seed and the second team in AFL history to win 13 regular season games, will host the National Conference Championship Game at American Airlines Center on Sunday, June 4 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Dallas' opponent will be the winner of the Philadelphia Soul at Orlando Predators Divisional Round playoff game taking place tomorrow, May 28, at TD Waterhouse Center at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

The SaberCats' opponent and the location for the American Conference Championship Game, to be played on Saturday, June 3 at 3 p.m. ET, will be determined by tomorrow's Divisional Round game between the Chicago Rush and the defending ArenaBowl Champion Colorado Crush at Pepsi Center in Denver at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. If Chicago wins, the game will be at the HP Pavilion at San Jose. If Colordo wins, the game will be at Pepsi Center in Denver.

ArenaBowl XX will be played on Sunday, June 11 in Las Vegas.
