SAN DIEGO - One game at a time... That's what the San Diego Gulls are saying, now trailing the Fresno Falcons 0-3 in the best-of-seven Pacific Division Semifinals. Game 4 is back at the ipayOne Center tonight, with game-time set for 7:05.
SERIES HISTORY: Tonight is Game 4 of the best-of-seven Pacific Division Semifinal series between the first-place Fresno Falcons and fourth-place San Diego Gulls. Fresno enters the contest with a 3-0 series lead. The Gulls and Falcons met six times during the regular season with Fresno holding a 4-0-2 series edge.

This is the sixth time that San Diego and Fresno have met in the postseason, dating back to both clubs' West Coast Hockey League tenure. The Gulls have won four of the series and holds a 14-13 record against the Falcons.

GULLS UPDATE: The Gulls MUST win tonight in order to force a Game 5... The first three games of the series were all decided by one goal, two in overtime... San Diego was 17-11-8 in one-goal games during the regular season... The Gulls have lost six straight playoff games, dating back to 2004... The last time they won a postseason game was Game 7 of the 2003 Taylor Cup Finals (against Fresno)... They have also lost six straight overtime playoff games, dating back to 2002 (five of those games coming against Fresno)... San Diego has trailed 0-3 in a series only one other time in its 11-year history (1999 Taylor Cup Finals vs. Tacoma)... PLAYER NOTES: Steve Hildenbrand led the club during the regular season 69 points and 40 assists. He has three goals and one assist in the first three games of this series... Alex Kim, who led the Gulls with a +17 rating in the regular season, has a goal and three assists in the series... Cody McLeod, re-assigned from the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters, also has three points (2g, 1a). He will serve the final game of a two-game suspension tonight... Tyler Weiman has stopped 104 of 114 shots in the first three games (.912 save percentage)...
FRESNO UPDATE: Fresno had its best regular season in franchise history, finishing with 100 points (43-15-14)... The Falcons set an ECHL record, not losing a single game in regulation to a Pacific Division opponent (22-0-7)... They were also 23-1-14 in one-goal games (and 3-0 in this series)... Luke Curtin, coming off a finger injury, was sixth in the league with 82 points. He had nine points (6g, 3a) in six games against the Gulls during the regular season... Brett Jaeger, yet to make an appearance in the series, played in all six regular season match-ups, going 4-0-2 with a 1.59 goals-against average and .947 save percentage... Shawn Mather and John Wroblewski each have one goal and three assists in the series... Fresno has beaten the Gulls in five straight overtime playoff games, dating back to 2002... The Falcons have had 31 power plays in the first three games of the series...
TRANSACTIONS: R.J. Enga was activated from the seven-day injured list yesterday, while Bobby Cunningham was placed on the seven-day IR... He joins Mark Adamek, who could return if the Gulls advance... Weiman and McLeod were assigned from Lowell on Monday... Rookie netminder Kris Mayotte was loaned to Lowell...
