San Diego Gulls to Hold Auditions for Ice Girl Team this Saturday at San Diego Ice Arena

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club will host tryouts for the 2015-16 Gulls ice girl team, this Saturday, August 15, beginning at 3 p.m. The auditions, consisting of on-ice evaluations and panel interviews, will take place at San Diego Ice Arena (11048 Ice Skate Pl, San Diego, CA 92126).
An ice girl's responsibilities include on-ice maintenance throughout a game, engaging with fans, assisting with on-ice and in-arena promotions and helping to ensure Gulls fans have an outstanding experience at each home game. The ice girls also serve as representatives of the Gulls organization at many local community events.
Registration will begin at 3 p.m., followed by the on-ice portion of the auditions where ice girl hopefuls will take the ice to have their skating abilities assessed. After the on-ice portion, select candidates will be asked to engage in a formal interview with Gulls judges.
Candidates should visit www.sandiegogulls.com in advance of Saturday's auditions to complete an online application. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma (or equivalent) to participate in the 2015-16 ice girl tryouts. Although skating experience is encouraged, it is not required.
