
San Antonio Stars Sign Toni Young, Ashley Paris and Brittany Chambers

SAN ANTONIO (March 2, 2015) - The San Antonio Stars signed forwards Toni Young and Ashley Paris, as well as guard Brittany Chambers, to their 2015 training camp roster, head coach and general manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Young was originally selected seventh overall by the New York Liberty in the 2013 WNBA Draft. In 39 career WNBA games, Young has averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 9.8 minutes. In her four years playing collegiately at Oklahoma State University, the forward averaged 12.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game and was named an All-Big 12 selection following her senior season (2012-13). Young is currently playing with Good Angels Kosice in Slovakia during the WNBA offseason.
Paris was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round (22nd overall) of the 2009 WNBA Draft. Paris is currently playing overseas in Russia with Energy Ivanovo, where she is averaging 12.5 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. A 6-3 forward out of the University of Oklahoma, Paris averaged 9.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game over the course of her four years as a Sooner.
Chambers was originally selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round (22nd overall) of the 2013 WNBA Draft out of Kansas State University. During her four-year career as a Wildcat, Chambers averaged 16.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 35.1 minutes. She was named a 2013 AP All-American honorable mention after her senior season when she averaged 21.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 37.3 minutes. Chambers is currently playing with Spar Girona in Spain during the WNBA offseason.
The Stars tip-off the 2015 season, presented by CHRISTUS Santa Rosa and H-E-B, in Phoenix against the defending champion Mercury on June 5 at 9 p.m. The Stars 2015 home opener takes place on June 14 at the Freeman Coliseum against the Tulsa Shock at 3:30 p.m. Ticket plans for the upcoming season are now available.
