San Antonio Stars Sign Blake Dietrick to 7-Day Contract

Dietrick Joins San Antonio After Starting The 2016 Season In Seattle

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Stars General Manager Ruth Riley announced today that the team has signed Blake Dietrick to a seven-day contract. Dietrick will be available Wednesday, July 6 when the Stars host Washington at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

Dietrick fills the open roster spot after the Stars waived guard Frida Eldebrink on June 26.

Dietrick (5'10, 150, Princeton) appeared in two games this season with the Seattle Storm before being waived on June 25. She spent the 2015-16 offseason playing for Cestistica Orvieto in Italy, where she averaged 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

A 2015 graduate of Princeton, Dietrick was named the 2014-15 Ivy League Player of the Year. She led the Ivy League in assists her senior season (4.9 per game), while setting the Tigers single-season assists record with 157. She was named to the Associated Press and Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention at the conclusion of her senior campaign.

A native of Wellesley, Mass., Dietrick signed a 2015 training camp contract with the Washington Mystics following the 2015 WNBA Draft, but was waived on June 1, 2015. She followed with a short stint at the Los Angeles Sparks' training camp.

The Stars host the Washington Mystics Wednesday, July 6 at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
