SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 3, 2015) - The San Antonio Stars have re-signed guard Jia Perkins to a multi-year contract, head coach and general manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

In 2014, Perkins led the WNBA in scoring among reserves, averaging 12.5 points while adding 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.48 steals in 22.4 minutes. Perkins led the Stars and ranked third in the WNBA with a .411 three-point field goal percentage, sinking 39 of her 95 attempts.

"We are thrilled that Jia Perkins will continue her career in San Antonio," said Hughes. "She has become a vital part of our team, our community and our culture. Perkins was acquired by the Stars in a 2011 trade with the Chicago Sky. Prior to her time in San Antonio, she spent five seasons with Chicago after spending the first two years of her career with the Charlotte Sting. She was drafted by the Sting in the third round (35th overall) of the 2004 WNBA Draft out of Texas Tech.
