
San Antonio & Ft. Lauderdale Mayors Make Friendly Wager on NASL Championship Final

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Thursday, November 13, 2014) - The San Antonio Scorpions and Ft. Lauderdale Strikers will be playing for the right to hoist the Soccer Bowl trophy this Saturday night when the two sides meet in the NASL Championship Final at Toyota Field. In support of their respective teams, Mayor Ivy Taylor of San Antonio and Mayor John Seiler of Fort Lauderdale have made a friendly wager based upon the outcome of the match.
The mayor of the losing team will stand on their respective riverwalk and will be recorded congratulating the winning city while wearing the jersey of the winning team.
"I'm thrilled that Mayor Taylor is showing her support for the Scorpions by entering into this wager with Mayor Seiler," said Scorpions owner Gordon Hartman. "It's an exciting time for us to be hosting the NASL Championship Final and to have this opportunity to showcase Soccer For A Cause to a broader audience. I expect a great game Saturday night and look forward to seeing Mayor Seiler in red and black."
