
Sam Kerr Named NWSL Player of the Week

CHICAGO - Chicago Red Stars attacker Sam Kerr has been voted NWSL Player of the Week for Week 5 of the 2019 season by the NWSL Media Association.
The Australian international doubled her seasonal goals tally as Chicago handed the Courage their first loss since June 2018.
Kerr struck first with a goal in the 13th minute on a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner on an assist from Yuki Nagasato (GOAL). Kerr then provided the assist in the 40th minute to allow teammate Michele Vasconcelos to score, giving the lead back to the Red Stars after a Courage equalizer in the 33rdminute.
The match remained at 2-1 until Kerr struck in the 93rd minute with another right-footed shot from the center of the box to ensure the Chicago victory (GOAL).
Kerr and the Red Stars will travel to Houston to take on the Dash on Sunday, May 19th at 5 p.m. CT.
