Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
South Burlington, VT. The Vermont Frost Heaves are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Saltus as Director of Game Day Operations for the upcoming 2008/2009 PBL season. Matt is originally from Morristown, NJ and for the past 2 seasons has served under Coach Will Voigt as Assistant Coach responsible for statistical record-keeping, game-film analysis, travel, scouting, and player skill development.
"Matt initially came to the Frost Heaves as a volunteer" stated General Manager Mike Healey. Since that first volunteer meeting, Matt made a commitment to the team to help out anyway he could. "I can't say enough about what Matt has contributed over the last 2 years," said Healey. "His dedication and willingness to help out wherever necessary are a tribute to Matt's work ethic and his desire to succeed." "Matt has been vital to our success the past two seasons. He took on more and more responsibility as an assistant, and excelled at all of it. He will be sorely missed by me and the rest of the players, but we are happy that he will continue to be a part of the organization," said Coach Voigt.
Beyond his Frost Heaves duties, Matt also plays bass with the bands Sweet Pea Crossing and Funk Shway, and has performed as a stand up comedian in the local Burlington area for many years. He lives in Burlington with his wife Deb and their son Steven.
As a result of Matt's new duties, the Frost Heaves are looking for a Volunteer Assistant Coach to help Coach Voigt for the upcoming season.
