Saints Receive Tourism Award

May 13, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
San Angelo Saints News Release

The San Angelo Saints received top honors at the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon this week. The Chamber celebrates Texas Tourism Week by honoring local sports organizations of the Concho Valley. The Sports Tourism Award distinguishes businesses and organizations for exemplary accomplishments and a commitment to bettering San Angelo. The Saints are one of five organizations to receive the award this year.

“Travel and tourism yield a substantial impact on San Angelo’s economy,” said Jenni Hutcheson, Director of Marketing/Sales and Tour Coordinator for the San Angelo Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Sports brought in $8.5 million to San Angelo in 2003, and the Saints contributed a very high percentage of that revenue.”

During Texas Tourism Week, the Chamber of Commerce recognizes organizations that demonstrate an enthusiasm to enhance the quality of the Concho Valley. Each year they highlight a different segment of tourism such as the restaurant or hotel industries, but because of the economic impact to the community, the Sports industry received the honors this year. Other award recipients include Angelo State University, the San Angelo Colts, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association, and SAISD.

**Season tickets are currently on sale for the 2004-2005 season. The Saints now offer a youth price of $199 for anyone 15 and under, as well as a military price of $300 for all active duty and retired personnel. A $50 per seat deposit will confirm your seat for next season and must be paid in full by October 1, 2004. For further information regarding season ticket plans, contact the Saints staff at (325)658-6464.
