San Angelo Saints News Release
SAN ANGELO â The San Angelo Saints today announced that the team has protected 13 players from last season's roster and these players' rights remain with the Saints until they are either signed or traded.
The protected list includes defensemen Corri Moffat (already signed), Konrad Brand (already signed), Matt Frick, Brent Currie, Ryan Reid and Gavin Hodgson; forwards Chris Peach, Kori Davison, Steve Roberts, Jarret Metz, Cory Pecush and Trevor Weisgerber; and goaltender Scott Reid. Players left unprotected include defenseman Brad Cook, forwards Jeff Cheeseman, Jason Abel, Jan Jas and Troy Mann, and goaltender Bryce Wandler. Abel was picked by Rio Grande Valley in the recent expansion draft and the Saints have regained the rights to Gavin Hodgson from Bossier-Shreveport where he finished last season.
While these players' rights remain the property of the Saints â that does not necessarily mean they will be signed to this season's roster. It only means their return to the Saints is possible â and if any other team wants them, the Saints must be compensated. The unprotected players immediately become free agents and can sign with any other team.
Saints head coach Ray Edwards is available for comment at the Saints office at 944-6253.

Cost of the 2-week clinic is $125 per child. For more information call the Saints office at 944-6253.
