St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN - There are many great reasons to attend the St. Paul Saints Opening Day, none more so than the military presence at Midway Stadium courtesy of Cub Foods and AUSA.

Cub Foods has purchased 3,000 tickets for the game, which will be given to Minnesota servicemen and women, and their families. In addition, AUSA is giving away logo baseballs to the first 2,500 fans that enter the ballpark. The baseballs will have the Saints logo on one side and the Vessey Chapter 5401 of the Association of the United States Army on the other side.

"Our partners at Cub Foods and AUSA are instrumental in making our Opening Day special," said Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Derek Sharrer. "This is just one small way for us to honor the men and women of our military, and their families, who sacrifice so much to protect our freedom."

While many military members and their families will be at the ballpark, troops overseas will be tuned into the Saints game that night via the internet courtesy of B2 Networks.

The evening will include all the pomp and circumstance of Opening Day including the colors provided by the University of Minnesota Army ROTC Color Guard. The National Anthem will be sung by 2007-08 Miss Farmington & Miss Congeniality, Lindsey Bailey.

Fans will have an opportunity to get their logo baseball autographed prior to the game as Saints players will be signing on the concourse, as well as after the game when fans can go on the field with the players.

Since 1950 AUSA has worked to support all aspects of our national security while advancing the interests of America's Army and the men and women who serve. They are a private, non-profit educational organization that supports America's Army.

To purchase tickets for Opening Day or any of the Saints regular season home games or the American Association All-Star Game, contact the box office at 651-644-6659 or visit saintsbaseball.com.
