Saint Louis FC News Release
Coming off a loss decided by an added time goal in the first of a three-game road trip to start its season, Saint Louis FC was tasked with regrouping for a Wednesday night tilt with LA Galaxy II, which won its opening game 2-0 over Arizona United SC. After 43 minutes of consistent pressure from Los Dos, the Saint Louis back line finally broke as Jack McBean took a through ball from Jaime Villarreal, evaded a diving Mark Pais and scored his first goal of the season.
Two minutes later, midfielder Bryan Rebellon had a clear shot from above the arc which ricocheted off the post and into the goal giving LA two goals in as many minutes.
Los Dos struck again in the 58th minute as McBean delivered another goal, this time from a free kick, set up by a hard tackle and subsequent yellow card for Jacob Bushue.
A total of two yellow cards were assessed to Saint Louis FC players with the aforementioned Bushue tackle and an AJ Cochran tackle late in the second half.
Saint Louis will look to regroup when it returns to action Saturday night against the Orange County Blues. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 pm central time and can be viewed live on YouTube or in the Match Center on uslsoccer.com.
The boys will open the home portion of the season on Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 inside World Wide Technology Soccer Park. To secure your tickets, please visit saintlouisfc.com, call 636.680.0997 or email tickets@saintlouisfc.com.
