Saint John Mill Rats to Host NBL Canada All Star Weekend

(SAINT JOHN, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, officially announced today at Brunswick Square, that Saint John will be the host of the second annual National Basketball League of Canada All Star Weekend. The event will take place during the weekend of April. 13-14th at Harbour Station.
Ian McCarthy of the Saint John Mill Rats stated, "We are proud to be the host City for this year's NBL Canada All Star Weekend. It is a prestigious event that we expect will draw fans from all over Canada and the US."
In May of 2011, the Saint John Mill Rats joined forces with the Halifax Rainmen and launched the National Basketball League of Canada. The League expanded this season with Windsor joining, and Ottawa (the nation's capital) has joined as an expansion team for 2013-14. Last years fabulous season ended with a magical 5 games series in front of a sold out crowd in London, and it was capped off with the inaugural NBL Canada All Star Weekend in Halifax.
The two-day event will be held Saturday and Sunday April 13th and 14th at Harbour Station. Saturday's events will include things such as the Three Point Shootout, the NBL Canada Slam Dunk Contest, and the Legends Game. On Sunday the best of the best stars in the league will face each other in East vs Atlantic All Star game.
Tickets are on sale now at the Harbour Station box office and online on their website at www.harbourstation.ca. Our season ticket holders will have until February 21 to purchase their same seats for the All Star Weekend.

The Mill Rats are on the road tonight in Moncton as they take on the Miracles. They return home on February 8th to host the #1 ranked team in the league, the London Lightning.
The Saint John Mill Rats Foundation is also holding the "Hoops 4 Kids" Fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 9th at the Water Street Dinner Theatre.
