Sacramento Republic FC Receive Tommy Thompson and Adam Jahn from San Jose Earthquakes

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC received midfielder Tommy Thompson and forward Adam Jahn on loan from the USL club's MLS affiliate, the San Jose Earthquakes. Thompson returns for his third consecutive annual loan stint with Republic FC; Jahn played on loan with Republic FC in 2014.

"Adam and Tommy are two players that our fans know very well," said Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle. "Both are players that wanted to come and join the club, which is a big plus for me and the squad. We all know what Adam did in year one; he scored lots of goals for the club and is a big threat. I worked with Tommy last year, and I am thrilled that he was available."

Thompson, a Granite Bay native, has appeared in eight USL matches on loan for Republic FC over the last two seasons, starting five. Thompson recorded a goal and two assists with Republic FC in 2015. He has appeared in 32 matches for the Quakes since becoming the MLS club's first Homegrown Player in 2014. Thompson was also a part of the US U-20 National Team during the U-20 FIFA World Cup in 2015.

Jahn, a Davis native, was loaned to Republic FC during their inaugural season. He appeared in 17 USL matches and all three of Republic FC's USL playoff matches during the 2014 season. He scored six goals during the regular season, adding a playoff goal against Wilmington Hammerheads FC in the 2014 USL Quarterfinal match. Jahn scored the first home goal in Republic FC history and is 13th all-time in minutes played. He has appeared in 52 matches for the Quakes since being drafted 15th overall in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft. He has scored five goals and recorded an assist in four seasons with the Quakes.

Sacramento Republic FC kick off their 2016 USL season on Friday, Mar. 25 when they travel to Tukwila, Wash. to take on Seattle Sounders FC 2. Both loan players are expected to travel with Republic FC for the match. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at the Starfire Stadium.
