July 1, 2016 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Sacramento Republic FC News Release

Sacramento Republic FC (7-3-4, 25 pts) return home to face Seattle Sounders FC 2 (4-5-3, 15 pts) in the first match of a two-match home stand. Kickoff is 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 at Bonney Field. The match, presented by Wells Fargo, will be broadcast live on CW31. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

This will be the third meeting between Republic FC and S2 this season. Republic FC have shutout S2 twice, earning a 1-0 road win on Mar. 25 and a 2-0 home win on May 14. Republic FC have won each of the last four meetings between the two clubs, shutting out S2 in all four matches. Republic FC currently hold a 361 minute shutout steak against S2.

Republic FC enter the match on an eight-match unbeaten streak after coming back to earn a draw against Arizona United SC on June 25. Second-half substitute Mackenzie Pridham's header goal in the 90th minute extended Republic FC's undefeated streak and earned them an important road point.

Pridham's goal against Arizona was his first USL goal of the season. Pridham was Republic FC's second leading scorer with six goals during the preseason, but an injury just before the first USL match of the season limited him to just 167 USL minutes so far this season. Pridham is the ninth Republic FC player to score in USL play this season.

Midfielder Danny Barrera recorded the assist on Pridham's goal against Arizona. The assist was Barrera's second in as many matches. He is the second Republic FC player to record assists in back-to-back matches this season. Defender James Kiffe recorded assists in back-to-back matches against LA Galaxy II on June 4 and Real Monarchs SLC on June 8. Barrera has recorded a goal and two assists in his last five matches.

S2 enter the matches after winning two of their last three matches. S2 defeated Western Conference leaders, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, 3-2 on June 9 and then beat Portland Timbers 2 2-1 on June 14, before falling 2-0 to Swope Park Rangers KC on June 26.

Forwards Andy Craven, Victor Mansaray and Myron Samuel lead S2. Craven and Mansaray share the club lead in goals with three each, while Samuel has a goal and a club-leading three assists. The trio has accounted for over 75 percent of S2's 13 goals this season.

S2 has scored seven goals in their last four matches after recording just six goals in their first 11 matches. The recent scoring has been important as S2 has gone 2-2-0 in their last four matches compared to 1-6-4 in their first 11 matches.

The will be broadcast live on CW31 and streamed live at SacRepublicFC.com/matchday. Updates of the match will be provided via Twitter @SacRepublicFC or using #SACvSEA. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
