QUOTABLE

Sacramento Monarchs Head Coach John Whisenant, August 5, 2006 at Sacramento:

How do you feel about the game tonight?

"Well we won. I have said that Washington could be the surprise team in the East and when they got Milton [Jones] back they are a pretty good team. I liked the way we played our first quarter. Then we got sidetracked somewhere. We turned it over maybe our season high twenty-six times. We have been in the ten, twelve, thirteen range for the last ten or twelve games. We just got out of sync. We just have to work on that but I am happy about the win."

Washington Mystics Head Coach Richie Adubato, August 5, 2006 at Sacramento:

Was it a very physical game?

"I would say it was a very physical game. I had four starters foul out. No Beard, no Melvin, no Coco [Miller], no DeLisha [Milton-Jones]. No, I've never had that happen before. I've never had four starters foul out of the game. This was a difficult situation. I thought Melvin got fouled on the last shot of the game with one-tenth of a second. I thought DeLisha Milton [Jones] got fouled with fifteen seconds when she drove to the basket and made the shot. We get and-one's maybe we win the game and we don't go to a second overtime."
