OTTAWA, ON - It was an idea start to the NASL Fall Season on Sunday afternoon for Ottawa Fury FC. The team addressed their scoring woes and extend the NASL-record shutout streak en route to a 2-0 victory over Jacksonville Armada FC. Ottawa Fury FC Captain Richie Ryan and defender Mason Trafford were named to the NASL Team of the Week, the League announced Wednesday, after Ryan's remarkable midfield play in his return to the line-up and Trafford first-ever goal in Fury colours that proved to be the match-winner.

Playing just 25 minutes in the Spring Season due to injury, Captain Richie Ryan returned to the Ottawa line-up healthy and eager to contribute. It was his corner that led to the opening goal in Sunday's win over Jacksonville, but it was Ryan's trademark composure and accurate ball movement that earned the skipper a spot in the Team of the Week.

For Trafford, it was a memorable day. With friends and family in attendance the defender scored his first-ever goal as a member of Fury FC to open the scoring in the 13th minute. Many could argue that while Trafford's goal did prove to be the match-winner, it was his defensive play that helped Fury FC win the game as Trafford and his teammates record their six straight shutout, extending Romuald Peiser's shutout streak to an NASL record 616 minutes.
