PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Mariners, proud affiliates of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, announced the re-signing of forward Ryan McGuire on Monday. McGuire originally joined the Mariners last March from the Iowa Wild.

A native of Saint-Agathe-des-Monts, QC, McGuire turned 24 in July. On March 18th, he was re-assigned to the Mariners from the Iowa Wild, where he was signed to a two-way AHL contract. McGuire skated in 15 regular season games for the Mariners, registering two assists, and appeared in two playoff games - both in the North Division Finals against Wheeling.

Between the Iowa Heartlanders and Mariners, McGuire combined for 50 ECHL games in 2025-26, finishing with four goals and five assists. He appeared in two additional AHL games for the Iowa Wild.

In 2024-25, McGuire debuted with the Heartlanders and scored five goals in eight games before playing in all seven of their 2025 Kelly Cup Playoff contests. He played three seasons at Colgate University before finishing his college career at Northeastern. McGuire posted 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) in 148 career NCAA contests.

The 6'2, 195-pound forward is the son of former NHL front office executive, coach, and broadcaster Pierre McGuire.

The Mariners 2026-27 season begins on Saturday, October 17th at Worcester with the Home Opener one week later on Saturday, October 24th, a 1 PM puck drop against the Railers.
