
Ryan Lehr sold to Royals

Durham, NC----The Central League announced today that the Edinburg Roadrunners have sold CBL All-Star infielder Ryan Lehr to the Kansas City Royals.
Lehr, 25, hit .322 for Edinburg last year and was among the Central League leaders in several categories. He ranked 7th in hitting; tied for the league lead in RBI with 74; was second in hits (119) and had 26 doubles (4th).
He was the starting third basemen for the Central League in the July 20 All-Star Game vs. the Northeast League in Fort Worth, TX. He was also named to the post-season all-star team.
Originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the eighth round of the 1997 draft, Lehr played four seasons in the Braves organization. Prior to joining the Roadrunners, he played in the Orioles and Angels farm systems and had independent experience in both the Western and Northeast Leagues.
