Ryan Anderson Named to NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team
April 9, 2022 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) News Release
(Toronto, ON) - He was the "human Swiss Army knife, a player who burst into the league leading his team in points, rebounds, and assists in his first season then continued to create memorable moments throughout his career - and now he sits among the Top 10 list of the league's greatest players ever.
Today, the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) named Ryan Anderson to the 10th Anniversary All-Time Team, comprised of the 10 greatest players in league history. Further players will be announced on the league homepage (nblcanada.ca) and social media channels through from April 14.
"An ultimate competitor who loved the big moments, Ryan didn't mind reminding opponents and fans how good he was with some amazing plays that just seemed so effortless," said Audley Stephenson, NBLC Vice-president of Basketball Operations. "He was an incredible leader, both on and off the court. He loved this league, loved giving back to the fans, and he did it all his own way."
Playing with the Ottawa SkyHawks (2013-14), Windsor Express (2014-15, 2018-19), and London Lightning (2015-18), Anderson was a three-time NBLC champion (2015, 2017, 2018), a run that included an NBLC Finals MVP with the Lightning in 2017. He is still the all-time league leader in rebounds (1,411) and three-pointers (697), while sitting in second in all-time points (3,419) and steals (371). The 6-foot-4-inch guard also ranks among the Top 10 in games played, field goals, assists, and blocked shots.
The NBLC 10th Anniversary All-Time Team was selected by a 13-person committee of former league personnel, coaches, and front office staff.
