Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush will begin preparations for the 2006 Arena Football League season by hosting a mini-camp Monday, December 5, through Wednesday, December 7, the team announced today. The Rush will open training camp on January 3, 2006.

"We are excited to get back on the field," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We are trying something new this year by moving our mini-camp to December. We think it will give us an early chance to teach our system to many of the new guys we have signed, so we can jump in full speed when training camp opens in January."

All rookies and veterans new to the team's roster will be participating in the three-day mini-camp. The entire 37-man training camp roster will report for physicals on January 3, with two-a-day practices to begin January 4. Included in this year's training camp itinerary is two days of practice at Allstate Arena on January 10 and 11, and a trip to Columbus for joint practices with the Destroyers on January 13 and 14.

Rush is required to cut down to its regular season, 24-man roster by Monday, January 24.

The Chicago Rush kicks of its season January 29, at Colorado. The Rush home opener is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, against the New York Dragons. Fans interested in purchasing season or group tickets for 2006 can call the Rush at (877) RUSH-TIX or visit the team's Web site, www.chicagorush.com.
