Chicago Rush News Release

June 25, 2002 – The Chicago Rush will honor Chicagoland police and firefighters at its game Sunday, June 30, against the New York Dragons at Allstate Arena.

"The public's awareness and appreciation of our country's police and fire departments is at an all-time high," said Mike Polisky, Rush senior vice president/general manager. "We felt that this week's game against New York was a natural time to honor those who help watch over us."

Any Chicagoland police officer or firefighter who visits the Allstate Arena box office and shows a copy of his or her badge will receive any $24 ticket to Sunday's game for just $12 or any $16 ticket for just $6.

Prior to kickoff, representatives of the Chicago police and fire departments will help display a 25' x 50' flag on the field during the singing of the National Anthem and participate in the coin toss to open the game.

In addition, firefighters will be spending the afternoon "Passing the Boot," collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Kickoff for Sunday's game is set for 3:30 p.m., with the free Rush FamilyFest in the Allstate Arena west parking lot beginning at 1:30 p.m.
