Edmonton Rush News Release

Rush GM/Head Coach Paul Day announced today that the club has signed defenceman/transition Dan Finck, the only player in the National Lacrosse League from Nova Scotia.

Finck, 26, played the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Wings and started his NLL career by being named to the league's 2005 All-Rookie Team where he was joined by current Rush defender Rory Glaves. Finck played in 14 games for the Wings in '05, scoring 10 goals and six assists for 16 points along with 82 loose balls. Last season for the Wings, Finck notched one goal and one assist and collected 44 loose balls in 10 games. He was released by Philadelphia prior to the 2007 season opener against the Rush.

"I'm very excited about this new opportunity," said the native Halifax. "I see this as a great chance to grow in my own game. I like to play in both ends of the floor. I think I'm smart defensively, but a big part of my game is using my speed and moving the ball up the floor and creating offensive chances."

Finck is eager to make his debut in Edmonton and suit up in the Battle of Alberta when the Rush meet the Calgary Roughnecks Saturday night at Rexall Place, ball drop is 7:00 p.m.

"I really like how the Rush went out and got new players and brought in a stronger base to the team," added Finck. "It really shows the commitment they've made for this year and the future. Paul Day and the rest of his coaching staff have the attitude that they want the team to better and to win."
