Edmonton Rush News Release
Edmonton, AB-- Chris Gill's impressive debut with the Edmonton Rush not only helped the team register its first home-floor victory, but also earned Gill an honour from the National Lacrosse League.
Today, Gill, who notched four goals and four assists last Saturday night against the Philadelphia Wings, was named the NLL's Offensive Player of the Week. Gill's eight points are a team record for the Rush.
He scored a pair of goals in the third quarter, including one on the power play, and then led the Rush's furious seven-goal outburst in the fourth quarter that paved the way to the win. The 11-year NLL veteran put the Rush ahead 12-10 in the late stages of the final stanza with two goals 44 seconds apart.
Gill racked up his four assists on two goals by Dan Stroup, his former teammate with the Colorado Mammoth, and on two of the five goals scored by Jimmy Quinlan, who finished the night with five tallies - a team record for the Rush.
