Chicago Rush News Release

The Chicago Rush has signed former Colorado Crush wide receiver Andy McCullough to a contract for the remainder of the 2007 season, the team announced today. McCullough replaces wide receiver Buchie Ibeh, who was placed on the AFL's Injured Reserve list with an ankle injury sustained in Sunday's opener in Kansas City.

"Andy is a fantastic player who was released by Colorado for salary cap reasons," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We had been talking to him for the last week and a half about possibly coming here at some point, and when Buchie got hurt it opened the door for him. He is a great player and we are fortunate to have him."

McCullough (6-4, 226, Tennessee), a member of the league's All-Rookie team in 2002 with Dallas, has spent the past two seasons playing for John Elway's Colorado Crush, catching 163 passes for 1,833 yards and 25 touchdowns. He might best be remembered by Rush fans as the Crush player who caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime of the "Confetti Bowl" - the 2005 American Conference Championship game between Chicago and Colorado.

In his career, McCullough has played in 74 games over five seasons, recording 381 receptions for 4,336 yards and 82 touchdowns.

The Rush kicks off the home portion of its schedule at 7 p.m. this Friday, March 9, against San Jose.
