Chicago Rush News Release
October 24, 2002 â The Chicago Rush announced today that it has reached a two-year agreement to have its Arena Football League games broadcast on ESPN Radio 1000 beginning in February 2003.
The agreement calls for ESPN Radio 1000 to become the "Official Home of the Rush" and to broadcast all 16 regular season games plus playoffs. In the event of a conflict with the Bulls or White Sox, ESPN Radio 1000 will move the Rush broadcast to another Chicagoland station.
"We are looking forward to our new partnership with ESPN Radio," said Rush senior vice president/general manager Mike Polisky. "As we enter our third season, we are excited about our associations with two great media brands â NBC on television and ESPN on radio.
"The Arena Football League is America's next great sports league," said Mitch Rosen, program director for ESPN Radio 1000. "We are proud to add the Chicago Rush to our stable of great teams that includes the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, Notre Dame football, UIC basketball and the great programming from ESPN.
The Rush finished its 2002 season with a 10-6 overall record and advanced to the AFL semifinals. Chicago kicks off its 2003 AFL season Sunday, February 2, at Allstate Arena against the Orlando Predators. Fans wishing to purchase season tickets, starting at $64, should call the Rush at (877) Rush-Tix (787-4849) or visit the team's Web site at www.chicagorush.com.
