June 4, 2007 - The Chicago Rush will choose a local talent to sing the National Anthem prior to its regular season finale on Saturday, June 23, as part of the team's fifth National Anthem contest, the Rush announced today.
The contest will take place on the field at Allstate Arena Wednesday, June 20, beginning at 3 p.m. and is open to all Chicagoland singers.
"The National Anthem contest is an event that showcases some of Chicagoland's most-talented singers," said Rush vice president of communications Mike Alzamora. "It is amazing how many great voices are heard each year at the contest, and we are expecting more great singers this year."
All contestants must register in advance by calling Laura Visin, Rush community relations manager, at (773) 243-3439. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 19.
