Rush GM Mike Polisky to be honored September 28

Chicago Rush president and general manager Mike Polisky will be honored by the All-American Football Foundation at its 80th Banquet of Champions, the Rush announced today. Polisky will receive an award as the Arena Football League's Outstanding Executive at the banquet, which will take place at the Chicago Athletic Club on Thursday, September 28.
"The ownership group is very proud of the honor that is being extended to Mike," said Alan Levin, Rush managing partner. "Mike has done an outstanding job from the day he was hired and through his leadership the franchise has consistently succeeded both on and off the field."
The Rush has qualified for the playoffs in each of its six seasons, winning the ArenaBowl XX title in 2006. In addition, during the past year Polisky oversaw double-digit increases in both season ticket sales (up 28 percent from 2005) and corporate partnerships (up 40 percent).
Others being honored at the banquet include Rev. Edward Malloy, president emeritus of Notre Dame, and Northwestern University head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
In addition, former NU head coach Randy Walker will be honored posthumously and his widow, Tammy, will receive the foundation's First Lady of Football award.

Founded in 1994, the All-American Football Foundation is a non-profit organization which supports football and awards 11 Colonel Red Blaik leadership scholarships each year.
The Rush defeated the Orlando Predators 69-61 in June to capture the ArenaBowl XX title. The win capped an amazing playoff run in which the underdog Rush won three consecutive road games on its way to the championship game.
