May 20, 2008 - Chicago Rush defensive back Dennison Robinson has been named the Arena Football League's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in last night's 72-28 win over Los Angeles, the AFL announced today.

Robinson set a team record with three interceptions, including one which he returned 26 yards for a touchdown. For the season, the AFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate leads the league with 11 interceptions, and is on pace to break both the Rush team record of 12 interceptions in a season set by Dameon Porter in 2001 and the AFL record of 13 shared by three players.

With 23 career interceptions as a member of the Rush, Robinson also is on pace to break Porter's team record of 26 career interceptions.

"I have to give all the credit to our defensive line," said Robinson. "With the kind of pressure they have been putting on opposing quarterbacks, it makes my job so much easier. When QBs have to rush their throws and are worried about getting hit, it gives me a chance to make more plays."

With its win last night, the Rush (9-2) clinched its second-consecutive Central Division title and earned a bye through the first round of the 2008 AFL playoffs.

The Rush will host an American Conference semifinal game at Allstate Arena on either July 5, 6 or 7. Tickets for that game will go on sale through Ticketmaster and the Allstate Arena box office beginning at noon this Saturday, May 24.
