
Georgia's Jones, Chicago's Robinson and Tampa Bay's Samuels Earn Week 12 Honors

NEW YORK - Georgia Force WR TIGER JONES, Chicago Rush WR/DB DENNISON ROBINSON and Tampa Bay Storm WR/LB LAWRENCE SAMUELS have been named Offensive Player, ADT Defensive Player, and Ironman of the Week, respectively, for Week 12 of the 2008 season.
OFFENSIVE: Jones (5-11, 193, Louisville) recorded a Week 12-high 15 receptions for a League season-best 224 yards and tied a League-high six touchdowns as the Force (6-5) defeated the New York Dragons (6-5), 72-67, on Sunday. Jones registered receiving touchdowns of four, eight, 42, 15, four, and 28 yards as Georgia's offense scored on 10 of 12 possessions. The Force travel to New Orleans to face the VooDoo (7-4) on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday, May 26 at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2 HD, ESPN360.com).
ADT DEFENSIVE: Robinson (6-0, 195, West Georgia) registered three tackles, tied a League-high with three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and had one pass defensed as the Chicago Rush (9-2) defeated the Los Angeles Avengers (4-8), 72-28, on Monday. On Los Angeles' third play from scrimmage, Robinson intercepted Avengers QB SONNY CUMBIE and returned it 12 yards to Los Angeles' 14-yard line. Robinson's second interception came on third-and-goal from the Rush three-yard line during the Avengers second possession of the third quarter. Robinson's defensive stop and 26-yard return resulted in Chicago's second score of the quarter and pushed its lead to 37 points. His final interception and 26-yard touchdown return with 5:53 remaining in the game sealed the victory for the Rush, who held Los Angeles to its lowest scoring output of the season (28 points). Chicago travels to EnergySolutions Arena to face the Utah Blaze (2-10) on Saturday, May 24 at 9 p.m. ET (AFL NET, ESPN360.com, CSN Chicago - Delay, 5/25 at 4 p.m. CT, KJZZ Local - Live, SIRIUS Radio - Channel 130).
IRONMAN: Samuels (6-3, 220, Livingston) recorded six receptions for 60 yards and one touchdown with one interception on defense as the Tampa Bay Storm (5-6) defeated the Grand Rapids Rampage (3-8), 58-50, on Friday. With the Storm leading by seven at halftime, Samuels registered the first defensive stop and offensive touchdown of the second half. On the first play of the third quarter, Samuels intercepted Rampage QB JAMES MACPHERSON and returned it 12 yards to Grand Rapids 11-yard line. On the very next play, Samuels scored on an 11-yard touchdown reception from QB BRETT DIETZ, which gave Tampa Bay a 14-point lead it would not relinquish. Samuels also recorded three tackles as the Storm's defense produced seven defensive stops. Tampa Bay hosts the Cleveland Gladiators (7-4) on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. ET (Catch 47 Local - Live, CSS).

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Chicago WR/LB DeJuan Alfonzo and DB Jeremy Unertl, Cleveland DB Alphonso Hodge, Georgia DB Stephen Cason and Willie Gary, Orlando DL B.J. Cohen, San Jose DL Garrett McIntyre and DB Omarr Smith, Tampa Bay DB Jeroid Johnson.
Ironman of the Week candidates included: Dallas WR/DB Andrae Thurman and San Jose WR/LB Jason Geathers.
