Rush Advertising Campaign To Focus On Chase For Second Ring

January 16, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release

Chicago Rush owner Mike Ditka unknowingly coined the team's 2008 advertising campaign when he was asked by a reporter last October about the message he wanted to send to the rest of the Arena Football League.

"One's not enough," Ditka responded, speaking about Chicago's quest for a second ArenaBowl championship. Ditka's comment resonated within his team's front office and a new campaign was born.

"Whether it is football, golf or cards, nobody is more serious about winning than Mike Ditka," said Curt Gruber, Rush vice president of marketing and business development. "His statement about our organization's desire for another championship is not only accurate, but makes for a great campaign for the 2008 season."

The six-figure advertising buy launched last month includes print, radio, television, outdoor and Web executions, highlighting the team's quest to regain the ArenaBowl title it won in 2006.

The creative, designed by the Rush and Curtis.Creative in St. Charles, features images of Ditka and Rush players as well as an image of the team's 2006 championship ring along side the tagline: "One's Not Enough."

The campaign will highlight the team's season ticket packages through early March, when the Chicago Rush season kicks off with a nationally televised game at Allstate Arena Monday, March 3, against the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats. Once the season is underway, the campaign will focus on individual games through the regular season finale on June 22.
