Chicago Rush News Release
In an attempt to replace FB Matt Kinsinger, who was lost for the season after suffering a knee injury in Monday's season-opening win over San Jose, the Chicago Rush signed FB/LB Liam Ezekiel to a one-year contract on Friday and added FB Whitney Bell to its practice squad.
Ezekiel (6-0, 240, Northeastern) spent his 2007 rookie season with the Nashville Kats, leading the team with 82.5 tackles while adding 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two fumbles recovered. In October 2007, he was selected by Utah with the eighth pick in the 2008 dispersal draft, but was released last month at the end of training camp.
Bell (6-2, 290, Ferris State) rejoins the Rush after originally being signed last November. He attended training camp with Chicago, but was released prior to the start of the season.
