Chicago Rush News Release

October 13, 2005 - The Rush continued to strengthen the depth on its roster this week, announcing today the addition of AFL veteran WR/DB Dennison Robinson and a pair of rookies - WR/DB Buchie Ibeh and lineman Darian Tate.

Robinson (6-0, 195, West Georgia) signed a two-year deal to come to Chicago after spending last season with the Grand Rapids Rampage. He played in 14 games, recording 26 receptions for 340 yards and five touchdowns. On defense, Robinson enjoyed a career year, recording career-highs in tackles (44) and passes broken up (13). Prior to his season in Grand Rapids, Robinson spent three years with the New Jersey/Las Vegas Gladiators, where he played for Rush defensive backs coach Brian Schwartze.

"Dennison is a seasoned veteran who has a knack for making big plays at crucial times in the game," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He might not get a great deal of notoriety around the league, but he has been a steady player and a clutch performer wherever he has been."

Ibeh (6-2, 210, Temple) comes to Chicago after spending the 2005 season with the af2's Albany Conquest. He played in six games for the Conquest, catching 11 passes for 238 yards and five touchdowns and recording seven tackles. He signed a three-year contract.

A graduate of Chicago's Curie High School, Tate (6-3, 280, Northern Illinois) played defensive tackle for three seasons at Northern Illinois (1998-2000) before transferring to Walsh University (Canton, Ohio) for his 2001 senior season. He signed a three-year contract after also spending time with the Carolina Panthers (2002 and 2003) and the Amsterdam Admirals (2003).

The Rush roster now includes 25 players. Teams are allowed to bring 37 players to training camp in January, but must cut down to 24 by opening day.
