Rush Acquire Defensive End from Cleveland
May 15, 2013 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Rush have acquired defensive end Brian Brikowski from the Cleveland Gladiators in exchange for defensive back Joe Phinisee and defensive lineman Jacob Hardwick, the team announced today. In addition, the team placed offensive lineman Ryan O'Neill on reassignment and wide receiver Nate Forse on recallable reassignment.
Brikowski began his Arena Football League career last season, as he was assigned to the Cleveland Gladiators in early June. In the five games he played in 2012, he collected 3.5 sacks and finished eighth on the team in total tackles with 26. He has added 17.5 on to that total through six games so far this season. The Rush also received future considerations from the Gladiators.
Brikowski saw action just this past Saturday against the Rush, collecting two tackles and one pass defended. The 6'4, 255 defensive end is a product of Monmouth University in New Jersey.
