Topeka Pilots News Release
The rivalry between the Topeka RoadRunners and Amarillo Bulls is as heated as any in the NAHL, but the rivalry is limited to the playing surface. The RoadRunner ownership group headed by Don Stone II demonstrated that fact by providing 28 game tickets for Games 1 and 2 to the local Big Brothers and Sisters program as well as the Amarillo area CASA who works to help abused children. "We love the rivalry. It's good for the fans, it's good for our sport", said Stone. "This is a way of showing that while on the ice the battle may be fierce, but off the ice we are all working toward the same goal, and that's the growth of our sport by getting people involved." To that end in Topeka, the Stone family has elected to offer $1 tickets for Game 3 of the series next week. "Again, it's a way of inviting people to be exposed to our sport at it's pinnacle of excitement, in the playoffs." Keri Jungmeyer, Program Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Panhandle expressed her gratitude for the gesture. "We are so thankful to the RoadRunner organization for offering us this opportunity. Who knows if a future Stanley Cup winner might be in the crowd? This could be the start of something big!"
