
Royals Manager Ned Yost Agrees to Two-Year Extension

KANSAS CITY, MO (October 1, 2013) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that manager Ned Yost has agreed to a two-year extension that runs through the 2015 season.
Yost, who just completed his fourth year in Kansas City, led the Royals to their first winning season since 2003 and the most victories (86) since the club won 92 games in 1989. The 2013 squad recorded 42 wins after the All-Star break, which were the most in the American League, while the club's 14-game improvement from its 2012 record was the third-best in the league.
Yost is 741-831 in 10 seasons as a Major League manager. His 741 career wins rank 81st all-time and are 12th among active managers in the Major Leagues.
